Each time a kid sees something in this list, get him to circle it.

When you leave the supermarket, see how many items they have circled.

Write the names of the food on a blank piece of paper.

Leave enough space beside each word so that the kid can paste the relevant picture.

Learn to spell these words

Here's a fun way to learn to spell.

Pass the list of words to your kids to learn. (Pick items that are readily available for your kid to photograph.)

Once he is ready, take out a digital camera and place the first item on a table.

If he can spell it correctly, let him take a photo of that item.

Let him try again and again until he can spell all the words in the list.

At the end of the game, upload the photos to your PC and put them in a document.

Beside each picture, draw a line for him to write the word.

Let him write out the words beside the photos he has taken.

I find my digital camera indispensable. My kid loves learning this way.
