dr. seuss activitiesI have always been a big fan of Dr Seuss. Dr Seuss activities would include reading these funny rhyming books (when I was little) or watching these Dr Seuss videos or DVDs. These animated books are a fun way to learn to read. The nonsensical rhymes teach kids the basics in phonics. The sing song rhythms of the rhyming jingles on each page are fun to read. More importantly, they show a kid how to read through phonics. A must buy for parents of pre-school kids.
The repetition of rhyming words ingrain into a child how these letter combinations sound. How by changing the first letter, you get a new, similar sounding word. As a kid, my mom read those for me until I could read them myself. Now, as a mom with kids, I read them to my kids when they were small. We watched the Dr Seuss videos together. Now, they can read quite well. My older kid was reading the newspapers when he was 5. It was, and still is, rather weird seeing that little kid hidden behind the newspapers, or fighting with his father for the newspapers. He reads mainly the comics section though. But he also reads the main news events, the ones with sensational headlines, or anything that interests him..
If you have kids who are about to read or are learning to read, this is an incredible offer you would not want to pass up. Get a FREE Dr.Seuss backpack and 8 books for just $3.99! I spent more than that on a single Doctor Seuss book! Unfortunately, it is only available to people in U.S. only. |
